Maintaining Dental Health
You’ve worked hard to get your dental health to where it is. You don’t necessarily need to improve it, but you’d like to maintain the health status of your teeth. So what can you do to keep your teeth sparkling? There are a few easy ways to maintain your dental health.
- Brush your teeth: The most obvious tip is to brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes. Make sure your toothpaste has fluoride to maintain the strength of your enamel, and don’t forget to brush your gums, inner teeth surfaces, and tongue.
- Floss: Dental floss is one of the easiest way to prevent major cavities. Food stuck in between your teeth can cause major cavities, and is easily removed with floss. When flossing, contour the floss around the side of each tooth and under the gum line. Use your thumbs to direct the floss to where you need it to go.
- Eating healthy: As we’ve said before, a healthy diet can make for healthy teeth. Less sugary or acidic foods like soda or cakes can help keep your teeth healthy. Not only can a healthy diet keep your teeth healthy, but keep your body healthy as well.
- Dentist visits: A bi-annual visit to Dr. Real can keep your teeth healthy. If your dental health starts to deteriorate, Dr. Real can catch it early and tell you what you need to do to improve your oral health habits. A bi-annual cleaning can help keep your teeth free of plaque and tartar as well.
